How many crunches are good for losing belly fat?

I’ve already lost 4 pounds in a week! How much does one normally lose?
oh I do the treadmill and 10 lb weights as well. my belly is where most of it is though and I haven’t been losing weight since doing them.
oops. I mean I HAVE been losing weight. Not HAVEN’T

crunches will tone and build muscle but not burn belly fat
the only fat burning exercise is cardio – burns fat all over body
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours – it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast – they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner – repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I joined the Self.com challenge. It is FREE (believe it or not) and it has helped me get on track. It has great tips on eating right and exercising properly. It also has tools such as tracking your caloric intake and calculating how much exercising you’ve done week to week. Try it, It is great! I have lost 15 lbs!

I just have been changing my eating habits. I eat salad, veggies, whole wheat bread instead of white bread. I eat Kashi Go Lean cereal and watch portion sizes. And once in a while I treat myself. I too am a mother and want to lose the extra weight around my mid section. So far in the past week I have lost an inch!

You can’t target weight loss in one area, you have to do it all over your body. The best way to do this is to do cardio exercises, like running, swimming, riding your bike, etc. Do things that make you breathe hard and work up a sweat.

And don’t eat junk food.

Losing belly fat and building Lean Muscle?

If i perform a full body workout 3 days a week (mon, wed, fri) and do light cardio on (tues, thurs, sat) will i be able to lose belly fat and get ripped? i’m not necessarily looking for muscle mass, just trying to get a six pack, and some decent muscles.

My full body workouts consists of compound movements such as benchpress, squats, deadlifts, presses, etc.

It depends on what your body mass index is.
If it’s higher than it should be, ‘light cardio’ isn’t going to do a thing for you. If you want abs, running is what you should do, especially if you’re not trying to build muscle mass.
Running, yoga, martial arts, cardio, all of that stuff centers around and strengthens your core, simmering off any extra ounces of body fat you have.
Lifting weights makes the muscle beneath your fat layers bulkier, in turn making you look bigger.

I can’t seem to lose fast enough with just walking. I hate this bulge but if I take something I don’t want to jeopardize my health.

so run swim play a sport sumthing! walking may not be enuf for your body to burn the fat. dont take a pill… no matter what they say none of them are safe and theyre just shortcuts- you’ll most likely gain the weight right back after you stop taking them.

my body is pretty even, not too thin, not too fat, but i always seems to have a few extra pound on my belly, what is a good exercise to loss belly fat?

Well heres from my experience.

I walk daily and diet. I also jog after about 45 minutes of just walking, sometimes 25. I then jog for about an hour. Not a straight hour of nonstop jogging though. I do stop for a while then start jogging again. By doing this I lost some belly fat and some facial fat. I weighed about 239 at the begining of May and in mid July I weighed in 220.
I now weight about 210.

I also stopped drinking soda and started drinking a lot more water. I only drink either water, milk, or tea.

I workout 5 days a week and eat healthy, but what would be more of a benefit for the stomach, pilates or walking? I feel like walking mostly helps my legs and thighs, but I really need to lose the love handles and mid section. I am thinking of alternating 2 different types of pilates instead of 1 type of pilates and walking for 30 min, any suggestions?

some trainers will not tell you this: pilates, crunches or set ups won’t make you lose belly fat. they will strengthen your abs but you will not be able to see results until you lose the fat first. now to answer your question, follow aerobics plane or run instead of walking and with the proper diet you will lose that fat. do abs workout as well it burns calories and with time you will see a big difference also a good advise is to steam your vegetables instead of regularly cooking them specially broccoli and other fiber filled veggiess.
