It is SO GOOD that you are asking this question now, so you will know what to expect and not be disappointed after all your work and labor. You will feel better about yourself, and you will reflect that, which will bring better reactions to you back to you, but it is not magical. The fact that you will be healthier and trim will not make everyone like you or attracted to you. Be ready for that. But you will get noticed more, and there are people who would never look at you heavy who will notice you once you're thin. Should it be that way? No. But it is. More people will notice you and be attracted to you, but not everyone... And you will still be the same person, with the same problems or difficulties you had before regarding relationships....so don't expect those things to magically disappear....The work of being ourselves and learning and growing continues for thick and thin....so to speak. You will undoubtedly be at least a bit happier because you'll have the confidence of knowing you've done what's absolutely best for your health and your life, and you'll know what you can accomplish. This, in and of itself, can attract more positive, accepting people into your life. Good for you that you want to be healthy, and you're looking into making sure you have realistic expectations. Good going! Let us know how it turns out for you....and remember, you are doing this to make yourself better---healthier, stronger, more accomplished....so if nobody ever notices, you still do, and that counts most of all. Good luck
References :
Happiness is definitely not determined by how much a person weighs. We all know of people who are overweight and much more content than people who have the perfect analogies. Don't lose all that weight to become happy, that is not going to happen. A realistic thing to expect is to fit in smaller sizes, maybe feel more comfortable with the way you look. But that doesn't equal happiness. It can nevertheless boost your self-confidence, and hence contribute to your engaging in certain activities that will elevate your mood. Good luck :)
References :
You will still be the same person you are now. Whatever issues made you gain all that weight in the first place will still be there. They won't magically disappear. If you're shy, you'll still be shy.

However, you will get to enjoy feeling and looking better. People will respond to you more positively.

But you won't be happier. You might even get depressed if you feel like your 'shield' is gone. If you have issues with the other sex and you ate to avoid them, you might feel uncomfortable with people being more open to you and you not knowing how to deal with it.

However, go for it. After you lose weight, you can get help with your stuff if you need to.
References :
It doesn't really change your life that much. I know because I have lost that much weight. You look better, sure, but life goes on and other things replace the thoughts of diet and losing weight in your mind. Don't expect this to be a cure-all, because it ain't.
References :
with all due respect they way we see ourselves is more than just our looks and appearance. I am sure you are a good looking girl, and sure after shedding the weight you may feel better about yourself but you happiness is more than that. I just hope that you are doing this for yourself and not anyone else.
References :
it depends on why you feel your life sucks. is it really the weight, or is the weight masking other issues? either way, loosing the weight is good from a health standpoint, you should feel better and maybe see the real reasons ( if any) why you think your life sucks.
References :
Do you think my life will completely change for the better when I shed all this weight?
I need to lose about 100 pounds (I'm 5'6" and about 210 lbs right now) and then I'll be happy with my body and the way I look. I feel like once I lose all that weight my whole life will be better and I'll be more confident and outgoing and just straight up happier!
Will this really happen though?
Will my life really be better just because of losing 100 pounds?
I don't want to get my hopes up and then be disappointed if I lose 100 pounds and then I'm skinny but my life still sucks or something...
I just want to know what to expect.
